About me
Hello everyone!:)
I'm Leonardo Laviola and I'm a Concert Pianist.
After getting my Music Degree in Piano Performance and my Master's degree in History and Philosophy in Italy - and while performing both in my country and abroad - I had the honour of studying with the world renowned concert pianist Marcella Crudeli who, in her youth, was Alfred Cortot's favourite pupil.
In recent years, I've developed a strong passion for teaching, and I love sharing my experience and expertise with people who are driven and passionate about piano, music and the performing arts.
What's the secret to defeating stage fright? Is there a solid method that could prevent you from experiencing unpleasant blackouts during a live perfomance? How can you avoid sounding cold, dull and robotic while playing in front of an audience?
We can discuss these topics and many more together in a personalized video lecture/video piano lesson.
If you're an amateur looking for some advise, I'm just a video call away. Let's get to it.
If you're a student trying to apply to music academies and conservatoires, I'm here to help. Let's chat and do some video lessons to build up a diverse repertoire and hone your performing skills.
If you're interested in some lectures about ancient, modern or contemporary history/philosophy - whether it be the wonders of ancient Greece, the conquests of the Roman Empire, the secrets behind the Crusades, the tragedy of the Holocaust or the endeavours of the government secret intelligence during the Cold War - I'm here to help you to navigate through these complex and fascinating topics, supplying notions, sometimes offering an insightful read, but most importantly trying to inspire passionate debate and curiosity for knowledge.
Gender gap issues, racial prejudice, migrations and intersectional feminism; these are only some of the most recent issues that keep fuelling the public platform while spreading on social media and dividing public opinion. So, if you have a knack for philosophical debate, my expertise will give you the necessary tools to acquire, corroborate and elaborate information enabling you to participate wittingly in a conversation that's happening all around the world.
