Coaching Skills for Managers: The Weekend Immersion

A two-day, in-person immersion for managers leading through change, whether it is already underway or on its way. When people are unsettled, resistant or looking to you for certainty, coaching skills help you build trust, create clarity and leave more ownership with the people doing the work.

We work with real situations from your working life. You will practise listening, asking, holding space and moving a conversation towards action without taking it over. Same method Migena has taught before, worked through in one focused weekend instead of six.

Saturday 7th – Sunday 8th November, 2026 · 10:00–16:00 both days · Zoku Copenhagen (in person)

Led by Migena Gjerazi (PCC, CPCC) and Anna Korosadowicz (ICF ACC), experienced coaches who have also led teams through real organisational change.

Leading through change without carrying it alone

You were promoted because you could solve problems. Managing asks you to do something harder.

When someone comes to you with a problem, it is tempting to fix it. You are busy, you may already know what you would do, and sometimes advice is exactly what is needed. But if every answer comes from you, your team learns to wait for you. The same problems return. You become the bottleneck, even when you are trying not to be.

Coaching is a different way to lead. It helps people think more clearly, take responsibility for their next step, and build confidence in their own judgement.

  • Lead without checking every task

  • Build trust and psychological safety in everyday conversations

  • Ask questions that open up someone's own thinking

  • Stay present when a conversation is emotional or difficult

  • Support ownership and accountability without micromanaging

Change puts a manager in the middle of everything. People want answers, teams can lose trust or push back, and the same decisions keep finding their way back to you. Over one weekend, you will practise creating more clarity, trust and ownership in your team, without becoming distant or hands-off.

What you will learn

  • If this feels familiar

    • You give advice because the team wants certainty, and it feels faster.

    • You keep checking work because you do not fully trust it will move without you.

    • Resistance, frustration or silence makes difficult conversations easier to postpone.

    • You carry the emotional weight of your team's worries.

    • Your team waits for your answer when the way forward is unclear.

    • Pressure makes you rush, shut down or react in ways you later regret.

  • You will practise moving towards

    • Questions that help someone think their way through the problem.

    • Clear agreements, ownership and follow-through.

    • Conversations that are direct, calm and respectful.

    • Staying present without taking the problem away from the other person.

    • A team that can bring you options, judgement and a next step.

    • More awareness of your own stress response, and a way to ground yourself before and during a hard conversation.

WHAT MAKES THIS COURSE DIFFERENT

Coaching is easy to agree with in theory. It is also easy to get wrong, and we will bust a few myths along the way.

It gets harder when someone is frustrated, quiet, defensive or asking you to tell them what to do. It gets harder when you are carrying the pressure yourself. That is why we work live, in a small intimate group. Bring a real management situation, try a different approach, see what happens and get feedback while the conversation is still fresh, then carry it straight back into your Monday.

In practice, you get:

  • Two days of live teaching, demonstration and small-group practice, in person. You learn it and practise it here, so you're ready to take it straight into your next real conversation.

  • Feedback on your own situations, plus a check-in between sessions on how it is going.

  • Two coaches who have led teams themselves and trained through ICF, Erickson, CTI and ORSC.

  • A live demonstration each week, where you can experience coaching yourself on something that matters to you.

  • Time to work with your own patterns under pressure, including the PQ assessment and elements of Positive Intelligence.

  • A closed group that stays connected after the weekend is over.

What this supports at work

Change asks a lot of managers. They are expected to explain what is happening, listen to concerns, make decisions and keep the work moving, often while dealing with the same uncertainty themselves. This course gives managers a place to practise the conversations that matter now. They bring real challenges from work and receive coaching and feedback on how they handle them.

  • Build trust when a team feels unsettled or resistant.

  • Hold clearer conversations about change, expectations and feedback.

  • Create more ownership and follow-through, instead of taking every decision back onto the manager's desk.

  • Notice the habits that take over under pressure, using the PQ assessment and elements of Positive Intelligence.

  • Ground themselves before and during difficult conversations, so they can respond with more choice.

THE COURSE OUTLINE

  • Day One (Saturday): Connection & Clarity

We begin with the conditions that make a good coaching conversation possible: grounding, clear agreements, trust and attention. You will explore the coaching hat, including when coaching is useful and when it is not, look at the system you are working in, and practise listening at different levels.

Can you be with someone without rushing in to fix it?

From there we move into clarity: curiosity, powerful questions and holding space long enough for something more honest to emerge. We will work with the iceberg beneath a conversation, open versus closed questions, difficult conversations, feedback, recovery, and the link between values and behaviour.

Are you asking a question, or giving your answer with a question mark at the end?

  • Day Two (Sunday): Strategy & Commitment

Insight only matters if it moves someone toward action. We work with emotions and self-management, resistance and saboteurs, perspective, and strengths, before turning to SMART goals: the tools for turning what someone sees into a plan they will actually follow through on. You will practise helping someone move towards a goal without making their plan for them.

What would a useful next step look like for them, not for you?

We close with action, follow-through and bringing the weekend into your own leadership practice. Commitment questions, self-care during change, championing, the wheel of work and acknowledgements.

What will make this change stick when work gets busy again?

WHAT YOU WILL LEAVE WITH

More room in the conversation, and less pressure to have every answer

By the end of the six weeks, you will have practised how to:

  • Tell the difference between coaching, mentoring and giving advice

  • Listen beyond the words, staying curious even in difficult conversations

  • Work with emotions without avoiding them or taking them over

  • Help people turn reflection into a next step they own, while noticing your own patterns under pressure

The people in the room

You will be taught by two coaches who know the pressure of management from both sides: leading teams themselves and supporting leaders through hard conversations.

Migena Gjerazi is an experienced Leadership Coach and Trainer (PCC, CPCC, ORSC, CTI Leadership Graduate; LCP certified) passionate about supporting leaders to shine, inspire, and create empowering change.

Her background is in HR and Finance (MBA), which has equipped her with clarity and the ability to relate to everyday corporate challenges.

When she is not empowering her clients to make impactful decisions, she focuses on the things she is passionate about. From working on her creative endeavours to connecting with locals whilst on her travels, spending time with family, she likes to keep busy. She also loves dancing and tapping into the wisdom of the body.

Anna Korosadowicz is an ICF-certified coach (ACC), Erickson Certified Professional Coach, Scrum Master Certified, and Certified Scrum Product Owner.

She has seventeen years in tech, several of them in leadership roles. In all of them, she led teams through transitions: from the KAYAK acquisition of momondo, where she led data integration across two merging companies, to a 45-person department at Labster that came together through a merger. Product management runs through most of it too. That combination is what this course draws on directly: she's sat on the manager's side of a hard conversation under real deadline pressure, then trained specifically in how to run that conversation well.

Her coaching also draws on elements of Positive Intelligence, particularly around how leaders manage themselves under pressure, alongside a broader focus on mental fitness meeting leadership when it's tested.
