My Story

About 10 years go, I had another job, a job which I know was probably a childhood dream for a lot of young kids. At 22 I dropped out of uni to become a commercial airline pilot and it felt amazing. 5 years later and I get my first proper experience of the realities of business. Turns out European airlines don’t like it when their pilots think they’re Maverick and don’t toe the line

And one day they literally threw the book at me. The day of my sisters wedding I received a letter saying I was being fired. I didn’t do anything to jeopardise the safety of my crew or passengers. I take safety very seriously and so did my colleagues. What I did do was see flaws in the system and strong conviction to stand up for what I believed in - no regrets.

10 years later and I’m still dining out on being a former pilot - if you asked me about my most successful metrics in any product I've managed - to date it’s from my time flying a Boeing 737-800 - a 1:1 take off to land ratio, few heavy landings but a 99.999% conversion rate of passengers walking off my planes (one for the pub - not my fault!), 4500 flight hours, 1 serious bird strike some great safety statistic but it because
