Cold Water Therapy Session Overview

We will meet at our agreed location and take a short walk together to the water entry point. Once we arrive, we’ll begin with a brief orientation so you know exactly what to expect and how the session will flow.

Depending on what you need on the day, this may include a short meditation and or gentle breathing guidance to help settle the nervous system and prepare both mind and body for the cold water experience.

Preparation and Customisation

Before your session, we’ll have already talked through your current experience with cold exposure.

If you’ve been doing cold showers or regular cold dips, we’ll use that to inform the level of immersion you’re ready for. If it’s your first time, we’ll ease in gradually and keep everything gentle, grounded, and fully within your comfort.

Everyone’s time in the water will vary depending on acclimatisation, confidence, and how your body responds on the day. Nothing is rushed. Nothing is forced.

We’ll also ensure all health considerations and contraindications have been discussed in full beforehand. No session will be booked until we’ve confirmed you feel physically ready and there are no underlying health concerns that could make cold water unsafe for you.

Benefits of Cold Water Therapy

Cold water therapy is known for a wide range of benefits, including…

• Boosting circulation and supporting recovery
• Reducing inflammation
• Improving mental clarity and resilience
• Enhancing mood through the release of endorphins
• Supporting the immune system

During the Session

You’ll get changed into appropriate swimwear, and we’ll go over any last minute details before entering the water.

We’ll begin with a slow, mindful entry, and I’ll guide you throughout so you feel supported, safe, and steady. Some people will stay in a little longer, others will take it in smaller steps. Both are perfect.

The intention is to receive the benefits of the cold in a therapeutic way, not to push past your limits. This is about building trust with your body, listening closely, and leaving feeling clearer, calmer, and more connected.
