1:1 Consultation

Pulling on a 10 year career in design and behavioural science research, I work with humans who are not beginners to personal development.

They've done the mindset work, probably the therapy and the courses, yet they still find themselves:

• Needing pressure or urgency to get things done
• Oscillating between overdrive and collapse
• Having difficulty resting without guilt or anxiety
• Being the one who holds everything together for everyone else
• Knowing what they want, but struggling to move toward it consistently
• Feeling like they’re operating below their true capacity

And this is sign of a nervous system that has learned to organise itself around survival rather than expansion.

And that's where my work comes in! At the intersection of psychology, neuroscience and nervous system support.

Top-down meets bottom-up

Many people have already experienced what are called top-down approaches - modalities that work primarily with thought, belief and cognition. These can be useful, but when they operate alone, they often create insight without the desired change.

The work we do here combines top-down and bottom-up approaches.

Put simply:

State influences thought, influences state, influences thought - and the cycle continues.

Your nervous system is constantly 'regulating' (even thought we don't love to use that term round here) itself based on the capacity it currently has available. When that capacity expands, the quality of your thinking, decision making and behaviour naturally shifts alongside it.

The frameworks behind the work

Alongside my training as an Integrative Psychotherapist, which provides the ethical and clinical foundation for everything I do, I draw from several nervous-system based approaches including:

• Somatic Experiencing® (SE)
• Dynamic Attachment Re-patterning experience (DARe)
• NeuroAffective Relational Model**©** (NARM)

Together we work with:

• Your nervous system
• Your attachment patterns
• The relational field between us

Through this process we begin resolving incomplete survival responses, loosening long-held adaptations, and reconnecting you with the fuller sense of self that already exists beneath them. The main idea being: everything you desire, is already within you.

Two ways of working

For some clients I am primarily their coach, for others I am their therapist.

The distinction depends less on labels and more on what you need right now.

Some people come wanting active, directive support as they move toward a life transition, career shift or creative expansion. Others need a slower, more therapeutic space to understand and unwind the deeper patterns shaping how they relate to themselves and others.

Both involve depth.
Both involve nervous system work.
Both move toward the same outcome.

Expanding your capacity to live more of your life - with more of yourself accessible.

What this work is really about

If I had to summarise it simply, the work is about capacity.

The capacity to:

• Hold more (money, love, responsibility, rest) without collapsing
• Move toward what you want without panic or sabotage
• Stay present in relationships without over-functioning / withdrawing
• Take action without needing deadlines or pressure to motivate you

As capacity expands, clarity and direction often emerge naturally - a direct result of felt safety in the body, signalling to the brain 'we can do that now!'

Why this isn't quick-fix work

I work with clients over a minimum of three months, I don't do one-off sessions.

This is typically the amount of time it takes for the nervous system to:

• Become familiar with this way of working
• Build safety within the relational space between us
• Begin re-organising around new patterns

Some people notice shifts quickly, others need longer. It's never a quick-fix or one-stop shop.

If what you’re looking for is rapid mindset change, there are many cognitive-behavioural approaches that specialise in that - but that's not me!

What we do here goes deeper, we are working with patterns your system has spent years - often decades - learning and adapting to.

Real change at this level takes time, and it's also what allows that change to last.

Who this work is for

This space tends to work best for people who:

• Are self-aware and psychologically curious
• Are willing to take responsibility for their lives
• Want to understand themselves more deeply
• Feel ready to change long-standing patterns
• Are navigating growth, pressure or transition

Many clients come to me during moments like:

• Burnout or overwhelm
• Career or creative shifts
• Financial stress
• Relationship strain
• Periods of isolation or major life transitions

Often accompanied by a quiet but persistent sense that more is possible.

Who this work is not for

This probably isn’t the right space if you’re looking for:

• Quick fixes or rapid mindset hacks
• Motivational coaching or accountability only
• Someone to tell you exactly what to do
• Purely cognitive problem-solving

There are many excellent approaches for those things, this work is slower, deeper and more relational.

This is a 45 minute 1:1 consultation where we will explore whether this work is the right fit. We’ll look at what your system is currently organised around, the patterns keeping you supposedly 'stuck' and what direction the work might take if we move forward

You’ll leave with a clearer understanding of what’s happening internally - and whether working together makes sense.

Please note, that dependant on your case & history, as mentioned above it may be more appropriate for us to work from a therapeutic perspective - this will be discussed in the consult.
