A State to Create: The Mini Series | De-shaming the System

Shame is one of the deepest survival responses we experience. It keeps us safe, but it also keeps us small.

If you feel stuck, overwhelmed, shut down, reactive, tired, or like you can’t just get it together - it’s not a failure of willpower or mindset.

It’s your nervous system doing it's job.
It’s your body trying to keep you safe the way it learned to a long time ago.

This class isn’t about forcing yourself out of old patterns.
It’s about meeting those patterns differently - with a little more tenderness, a little more space.

It’s about dropping the shame that says 'I should be over this by now' or 'I should be able to just do it' and starting to trust that your impulses makes sense. Even if it’s inconvenient. Even if it’s messy to begin with.

We're not here to 'fix' anything.

What we’ll explore:

  • How survival patterns get wired into the body - and why they’re not personal failures

  • What it actually means to feel 'stuck,' 'shut down,' or 'too much' - through the lens of the nervous system

  • How to spot when you’re sliding into survival mode - and gently meet yourself there without spiralling into shame

  • Simple ways to work with your body, not against it, when you feel yourself tightening, shutting down, or overdoing it

  • What it looks like to let go of the idea that progress means 'never struggling again'

We’ll be working with reflection, body-based practices to separate that shame from our identity, nervous system education (in a way that's digestible, no jargon), and a chance to tap into what's possible without that shame there keeping you small.

This space is for you if:

  • You feel a deep resistance to showing up, being seen or being heard (think posting/public speaking/putting your art out there)

  • You feel like you're either 'on' all the time or shut down with no in between

  • You're tired of trying to fix yourself

  • You’re ready to get curious about old patterns, without making yourself wrong for having them

  • You want to find a gentler, more honest way to move forward

What to expect:

  • No lectures, no performance. No pressure to be anywhere but where you are

  • Grounded tools you can actually use — even when you're in the middle of a shutdown or spiral

  • Space to breathe. Space to be human.

  • A gentle nudge toward trusting yourself more, not less.

You don’t need to be in a good mood to come.
You certainly don’t need to have your shit together!
You don’t need to know how you’re going to change.

Showing up is enough, we'll meet you there.
