How to set up an affiliate program for your products as a creator on Pensight

If you're a creator on Pensight with a Pro subscription, you have access to your own Creator Affiliate Program. This allows you to create and manage affiliate relationships to help promote your products. Here’s how it works:

Setting Up an Affiliate Program

Creators with a Pro subscription can create custom affiliate invite links from the Affiliate Program dashboard. Each link includes a unique code that can be shared with multiple affiliates. You can set a custom affiliate % earnings with each link. When an affiliate signs up using your invite link, they’ll start earning a commission on any of your products they help sell.

Each invite link directs the prospective affiliate to a dedicated page that includes:

  • Your name and avatar
  • Commission rates (set by you) for any of your products sold via that affiliate
  • General information about your affiliate program
Affiliate Commissions

All public products sold by the creator can be part of the affiliate program, and affiliates earn commissions across all of the creator’s products purchased in the 30 day window from when a client clicked on the affiliate link. You can adjust commissions for individual affiliates, but all products share the same commission for a particular affiliate.

You can assign different affiliate commission percentages to affiliates by creating different affiliate invite links or by manually updating the affiliate commission after they have joined your affiliate program.

Becoming an Affiliate

When an affiliate receives your invite link, they’ll need to log in or sign up for a Creator account on Pensight. They can use the free Basic plan for it. Pensight account is necessary for them to be able to participate. Once they are logged in, they can simply click “Become an affiliate,” and they will be added to your affiliate program instantly, without requiring any additional approval.

Once affiliates have signed up, they’ll gain access to their own Affiliate Dashboard, where they can track their commissions and affiliate links. Here's what they’ll see:

The dashboard displays key information about all the affiliate programs the user is part of, including:

  • Creator’s name and email address
  • Commission percentage
  • Total commissions earned (categorized as Due, Needs review, On hold, or Paid out)
  • The date the affiliate joined the program
  • Affiliate link for the creator’s profile
  • Affiliate links for all of the creator’s public products
Commission Tracking and Payouts

Pensight helps track affiliate commissions automatically. Affiliates earn commission for any products sold by the creator for 30 days after the client visits creator's store via affiliate's link.

Payouts are handled manually by the creator. Once an affiliate has commissions that are due, the creator should contact the affiliate directly to arrange a payment via Paypal, Venmo, CashApp, Gift Card, or a bank transfer . Pensight provides a chat function to facilitate communication between both parties.

Pensight initially creates commissions in an "On hold" status, to account for any potential refunds. After 30 days, commissions are automatically moved to “Due” if there has not been a refund or to “Needs review” if there has been a refund. The creator can also manually change the commission to “Needs review” or “Due”.

Creators are responsible for manually paying their affiliates once commissions are due. Affiliates can request payouts by contacting the creator via email or the chat feature. Once the creator pays the affiliate, they can manually mark the commission as “Paid” in their dashboard. Pensight is not responsible for any unpaid affiliate commissions.

Refunds

If a product is refunded while the commission is on hold, at the end of the hold period the system will automatically mark the commission as "Needs review." The creator can then decide whether to still mark the commission as “Due” or mark it as “Rejected”.

Affiliate Dashboard for Creators

Creators have access to an Dashboard, where they can manage their affiliates. They can view:

  • Affiliates' names, emails, and join dates
  • Commission percentages and totals
  • The status of commissions (Due, Needs review, On hold, Paid)

By clicking on an affiliate, the creator can access a detailed page showing:

  • Commission breakdowns
  • Options to review and pay due commissions
  • Tabs to track the status of all commissions

Creators also have the ability to review and update commissions when necessary.
